Gateway Targets Holiday Shoppers with $399 All-in-One Desktop
A simple all-in-one at at stellar price
Gateway wants to help holiday shoppers gear up for the gift giving season by launching its affordable Gateway One ZX4270 Series all-in-one (AIO) desktop. Starting at $399, the ZX4270 sports a 19.5-inch HD+ non-glare LED display (1600×900) in a compact chassis that measures 18.9 inches (W) by 12.32 inches (D) by 2.13 inches (H). Underneath the hood you’ll find an AMD Vision A4 5000 processor inside (1.5GHz, 2MB cache).
The system also features Radeon HD 8300 Series graphics, 4GB of DDR3 memory, 750GB hard drive, two USB 3.0 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, card reader, LAN port, slim optical drive, HD webcam, Bluetooth 4.0, built-in 2.5W front-facing speakers, and Windows 8.
“We’re very pleased to offer this compelling platform that provides a great balance of affordability and performance for those who need a PC for email, online shopping, social media and productivity applications,” said Frank Chang, director of product management for Gateway. “The AIO form factor is easy to set up, attractive and saves space, so it fits nicely in space-constrained areas such as the kitchen or office nooks.”
Gateway envisions the ZX4270 serving as a second or third PC for the home, hence the subdued specs and low price tag. Look for this one to be available sometime this month.
