Apple to increase phone and tablet production with the help of new suppliers

 By Manthan Gupta | November 6, 2013

According to a recent Wall Street Journal report, Apple will be increasing its smartphone and tablet production capacities with the help of new suppliers. The information comes from unnamed sources that claim the Cupertino-based company will be adding new Asian contract manufacturing partners in order to help production meet demand.
The Taiwan-based Wistron Corp. will start producing the iPhone 5C later this year; the company is already making phones for BlackBerry and Nokia, says the report. Compal Comm — manufacturer also for Lenovo, Nokia, and Sony — will start assembling the iPad mini slate starting next year, claims the same report. In the light of these, the current Hon Hai/Foxconn plant will be focusing on production of the higher-end iPhone 5S.
